Every first Friday of the month Democrats from across Knoxville come to celebrate and socialize at the Democratic Headquarters, located at 311 Morgan street.

This Friday, May 3, 2013, from 6 – 9 pm, we will have a very special First Friday-  please consider coming out and celebrating the end of the week!

We had a wonderful and well-attended convention and welcomed many new members and leaders. Thank you to all who stepped up to run!

It isn’t long before we begin our county party reorganization and elect new officers within our party. We encourage all Democrats to attend and participate in this reorganization. This is an all call for Democrats in Knox County to get involved and make a difference in their community.

The actual date for the convention will be April 13th at 12 noon and doors at the Unite Building, 1124 N. Broadway, will open at 10:30 for registration and lunch.  Those interested in being delegates to the convention will also need to attend their District meeting the week before the convention in order to be selected. Those meetings should be set by March 14th and we will put the dates, times, and locations up on this website as well as advertising locally.

**District 4 Meeting-Saturday April 6th at Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church on Kingston Pike from 2:00 to 4:00

**District 6 Meeting-Saturday April 6th at 10 am at the Karns Public Library on Oak Ridge Highway

**District 7 Meeting- Powell Library at 330 W. Emory Rd. on April 2nd at 6:00pm.

**District 8 Meeting-Will be day Saturday, April 6th  at the Masonic Lodge at 9201 Rutledge Pk. at 1:00 pm

**District 9 Meeting-Monday April 1st at the South Knoxville Community Center from 6:30-7:30

***The Bylaws Committee is working on bylaws suggestions as received. If you would like to submit any suggestions to the bylaws committee, please do so on or before March 14th. Submit to Jerome Miller at millerjq@charter.net.

Please join the Knox County Democratic Party as we march in the Martin Luther King Jr. Parade on January 21st. Line up is at 8:30 am with step-off at 10:00 am from the Tabernacle Baptist Church 2137 MLK, Jr. Blvd. The purpose of the parade is to offer the community a visual and audible display in tribute to the life and works of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  The 2013 Parade route will stretch from the Tabernacle Baptist Church on Martin Luther King Avenue to Greater Warner A.M.E. Church in Burlington. It is always a good time and a great celebration, especially in conjunction with President Barack Obama’s inauguration! For more information contact KCDP HQ at 540-4001.
