CAL THOMAS: Did Kamala Harris violate the Hatch Act? | Chroniclers

Vice President Kamala Harris, who appears to be part of the witness protection program regarding her role in restoring our southern border, resurfaced in a video she sent to 300 black churches in Virginia. In it, she calls on worshipers to vote for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe. She even reminds them that they can vote on Sundays and urges them to do so after their church service, presumably after worshiping an authority above the state.

Did Harris just violate the Hatch Act? The Hatch Act says of federal government employees: “An employee may not use official authority or influence for the purpose of interfering with or affecting the outcome of an election.” I’m sure “withdraw the vote” for McAuliffe qualifies.

In the video, Harris touts what she says was McAuliffe’s record during his previous governorship from 2014 to 2018. She says he created thousands of jobs in the state. Former President Donald Trump also made this claim. But the Biden administration doesn’t give Trump any credit for anything, although it has quietly reinstated some of its policies, such as requiring migrants to stay in Mexico while their asylum claims are processed.

Some other takeaways from Harris’ video include his inability to mention everything current Democratic Governor Ralph Northam has done. It is as if Northam has been erased from memory, as the Soviet Union did with disgraced leaders whose photographs were erased from official ceremonies, and ultimately from history, to serve the propaganda machine. Bolshevik.

In the video, Harris says while attending church in Oakland, Calif., “It was our sacred responsibility to raise our voices and raise the voices of our community.” Translation: Vote Democrats, although their record is less than admirable when it comes to serving black and brown communities. For Democrats, African Americans never seem to be successful and always need a government. Why? To do what? Reduce shootings in the streets of our big cities? Create and keep families together? Give parents an opportunity for their children to escape failing public schools and allow them to choose a school that provides true education in a safe environment? None of the above. It is in Democrats’ best interests to keep African Americans loyal and accountable to their party, although so little is given in return.

When a liberal Democrat “talks about God” there is no criticism from supporters of church-state separation because the left, which now dominates this party, knows they are not serious. You can call yourself whatever you want as long as you ignore the scriptures’ instructions, warnings, and salvation message. This is why Roman Catholics like President Biden and President Nancy Pelosi seem to get away with proclaiming themselves “faithful Catholics” while ignoring – even opposing – their church’s teaching on abortion, marriage and homosexuality. As long as you are for the same policies advocated by secular progressives, you can be “religious”, and the left does not care.

Democrats who have told conservative Christians that they shouldn’t try to impose their beliefs by government obviously have no problem imposing misinterpretations of Scripture and even non-beliefs through government and the justice. Some are even inconsistent in these beliefs, accepting the teaching of their church when it opposes the death penalty for murderers, but rejecting the teachings that seek to protect unborn human life.

By sending a video to the churches in Black Virginia, Harris is guilty of the same condescension we have seen in his party for years over certain demographics. If the government is the answer, would it not have succeeded by now with so many programs passed and so much money spent?

Will Harris be held responsible for breaking the Hatch Act? Of course not. Washington always protects its own people, unless the person is a Republican or Donald Trump.
