Cody Keenanwho was former President Barack Obama’s editor, has offered what he sees as a surefire way for Democrats to fight Donald Trump.
Humor is key to annoy the two-time, one-term, and notoriously thin-skinned former president, Keenan suggested in the latest episode of Mediaite’s podcast “The Interview.”
“The best way to bring Trump down is to make fun of him,” Keenan said, citing the 2011 White House Correspondents’ Association dinner when President Obama and comedian Seth Meyers mercilessly mocked Trump. Trump, much to the chagrin of the reality TV personality.
“We had a lot of fun on the campaign trail in 2020,” Keenan recalled of Obama’s involvement in Joe Biden‘s campaign against Trump. “Obama was basically doing stand-up routines on Trump on the track and people were loving it and it was driving Trump crazy.”
“The best way to get under his skin is to do it,” continued the author of the new book, “Grace: President Obama And Ten Days In The Battle For America.”
“I’m sure someone on (Florida GOP Gov.) Ron Desantis’ team is trying to work on some, I quote without quotes, but I just don’t think this guy has the charisma to pull it off,” he said. added Keenan. “But if someone else did, it would be ‘fun’ to watch in some sort of reverse in a car crash.”
