Democrats eyeing U.S. Senate race roster grows as Democrats seek to overthrow Republican Senator Ron Johnson’s seat, though Johnson has announced whether he will run for reelection at the end of his term in 2022 Steven Olikara, a Brookfield native and founder of the Millennial Action Project, announced the formation of an Scoping Committee this week. He held his first listening session on Friday at the MobCraft Beer brewery while touring the state this summer. “As we go along on this journey we want to hear from people and if this energy is there like we think it is in our gut then we will do a full launch later,” said Olikara. “We are seriously exploring.” Democratic State Senator Chris Larson announced his candidacy last week and said he expected the campaign on the ground to begin in the coming weeks. “I think a lot of people want Ron Johnson to go and are wondering how he’s going to be.” Larson said. “If he wants to go there of his own free will or if he’s going to have to beat him in the elections.” Other Democratic candidates already announced include Outagamie County Executive Tom Nelson, Bucks Executive Alex Lasry, State Treasurer Sarah Godlewski and Wausau Radiologist Gillian Battino.
