On Friday, US Vice President Kamala Harris administered the swearing-in of Indian-American Shefali Razdan Duggal, who was named the next US envoy to the Netherlands.

“I had the privilege of swearing in Shefali Razdan Duggal to be our next Ambassador to the Netherlands. We wish you well in this new role and thank you for your leadership,” the vice president tweeted.

“Shefali Razdan Duggal, candidate for the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of the Netherlands,” the White House said in a March 11 statement.

Mrs. Duggal is a Kashmiri. She graduated from the University of Miami and received her master’s degree from New York University. Ms. Duggal served as a member of Joe Biden‘s National Finance Committee for President 2020, National Women’s Co-Chair for Biden and Vice Chair of National Finance on the Democratic National Committee.

Ms. Duggal’s political activism has seen her serve as Vice Chair of the Standing Committee on Credentials at the 2020 Democratic National Convention, Member of the Rules Committee at the 2016 Democratic National Convention and Member of the Committee powers at the 2012 Democratic National Convention. Convention, according to the official release.
