Kamala Harris crosses Michigan ahead of 2022 midterms

Vice President Kamala Harris traveled to Detroit on Saturday to attend several events with Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist.

Kamala Harris’ trip to Motor City included highlighting federal bills such as the CHIPS Act, which aims to bring more manufacturing back to the country.

Harris first attended a Michigan Democratic Party fundraising event with Whitmer and Gilchrist.

“It’s not just about talk, it’s about action,” Gilchrist said. “When you vote, Michigan is better; when we show up, Michigan gets stronger. »

She then went to Focus Hope in Detroit, which helps provide education and training to minorities in the city.

From there, Harris will travel to Southfield for a voter education event with students from a local school.

“Today, you are the ones organizing and advocating to change the climate crisis to end gun violence and protect reproductive rights; our nation needs you,” Harris said.
