MSNBC guest panelist Lucy Caldwell insisted that GOP members are fascist to the core.

Providing supporting evidence from his own experience, he said: “You know, one of the reasons why even as a Democrat who worked on Barack Obama’s campaigns in 2008 and 2012, I was extremely glad the Republicans nominated John McCain in ’08 and Mitt Romney in 2012 because I knew God forbid Obama lost either of those elections, democracy would survive.”

However, he argued that now fascists “disguised” as Republicans have infiltrated the party. “And in this case, the dangerous game that’s being played is to have these extreme, unbalanced fascists — because that’s what they are. Amandi further asserted, “And the prospect of them potentially winning in a 50/50 pick there at the end of the November ballot, that’s not just dangerous to democracy, it’s an overt threat and existential.”
