PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Vice President Kamala Harris will make her maiden trip to Pittsburgh today.
Drivers will have to remain patient today, give themselves extra time or find alternative routes to get around during the vice president’s visit.
As for the visit itself, details on the vice president’s visit have been limited, but there has been a lot of talk lately about infrastructure.
Republicans and Democrats have been going back and forth on cost and what to really focus on.
Vice President Harris will be joined by US Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh.
This will be Vice President Harris’ first visit to Pittsburgh.
Some streets will be completely closed in the city due to this visit, while there will also be gradual closures as the procession moves through the area.
East Carson Street will be closed between 12 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. this afternoon.
Public safety officials say they will keep people informed on social media when the streets reopen and when the procession passes through different areas.
