Vice President Kamala Harris to visit Providence next week

White House officials have announced that Vice President Kamala Harris will travel to Rhode Island next week. Harris will travel to Providence on Wednesday, May 5, and will be joined by US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, former Governor of Rhode Island. No further details about the Vice President’s visit to Providence have been announced by White House officials. Harris’ last in-person visit to Rhode Island was in October 2017, when she made an appearance at the of a fundraiser for US Senator Sheldon Whitehouse in Rhode. Island Convention Center ahead of her re-election campaign. Last August, she participated in a virtual fundraiser for Joe Biden’s presidential campaign. Next Wednesday’s visit to Providence will mark the second time in two weeks that Harris has visited a New England State. On the 23rd, Harris paid a visit to several stops in New Hampshire to promote the Biden administration’s jobs and infrastructure program. The Vice President first visited the New Hampshire Electric Co-op office in Plymouth and then visited the IBEW Local 490 office in Concord.
