Virtual conversation: 2021 session recap: Legislative Democrats

Join the Washington State Wire tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. as we host a virtual conversation between Legislative Democrats on the 2021 session.

From capital gains tax to climate pledge law to the Blake decision, the implications of this session will be broad and lasting. In this virtual conversation with Legislative Democrats working at the heart of this major piece of legislation, we’ll recap what happened this session and what it all means for Washington State.

Joining the thread will be Senator Manka Dhingra and Representative Joe Fitzgibbon.

Senator Manka Dhingra is Deputy Majority Leader of the Washington State Senate. She used her two decades of experience as a prosecutor and behavioral health expert to lead the Legislative Assembly’s response to the Blake decision and strengthen Washington’s behavioral health system during the pandemic. Representative Joe Fitzgibbon chairs the House Environment and Energy Committee. He was the main sponsor of the low carbon fuels standard which passed this session and was one of the state’s main leaders in environmental and climate policy.
